Members will have noticed the first of a few upgrades in and around our clubhouse. Behind the scenes the rear service corridor, staff toilet, main electrical cupboard and soft drinks store have all been repainted and storage racking from the Broughty building transferred and used throughout the service area.
The back bar has been spruced up with the pool table being disposed of, an additional television and coffee machine from the Broughty installed, and cupboards installed for disposable cups for members to take away coffee. Seating has also been transferred from upstairs and the bandit machine relocated. Torn and worn seat covers will be replaced to match the existing ones.
In the main lounge, the trophy cabinet from the Broughty is being built into the wall and another television has been installed in the dining room for use during social functions replacing the overhead projector. New radiators are to be installed in the dining room and dance floor area and the faulty boiler is being replaced. The leaking roof in the main lounge, dance floor and dining room is also being repaired.
Upstairs, the office has been repainted and new carpet fitted. The snooker room has been redesignated as a Games Lounge and fully refurbished with the Broughty pool table installed and recovered, the snooker table has also been repositioned and recovered. The dart board from the Broughty has been installed and a darts alley created with another television and 20 armchairs from the Broughty also installed. The previous display cabinet from downstairs corridor has been relocated to the games lounge with dominoes, board games and books added. All the historical club champions/ captains boards of the constituent clubs that make up Grange & Broughty are now on display.
